What is a Rio membership?
A Rio membership is for 2 people, and is comprised of a primary member and a secondary member / guest. The Krewe does not offer single memberships.
The Benefits of Membership
Membership in the Krewe of Rio comes WITH a terrific package of benefits.
1. Two Admissions to the "members-only" summer dance party, the Rio Sambada.
2. Two Admissions to the annual Rio Ball in January.
3. Two rider spots on a parada float in our annual Rio Parada. Actually, it’s like being a member of a family group within the krewe!
4. Two Admissions to our annual spring Crawfish Boil
How do I become a member?
All potential members must be sponsored by two current krewe members. The names of these 2 members will need to be listed on your application form.
Complete and submit the application form with your payment to begin the "new member" application process.
here are the important financial details for you:
1. there is A one-time Initiation Fee of $200 for each new membership.
2. the Annual Membership Fee is $500 for 2 people.
here are some Additional expenses that may be applied to you:
1. to purchase An official rio parada float rider costume from the krewe of rio, if you choose to ride. this costume is a one-time purchase, if you stay on the same float each year.
2. to purchase a set minimum dollar amount of Beads & throws from the krewe of rio, if you choose to ride. this policy is for every year that you ride in the rio parada.
3. to contribute a certain dollar amount (set by each float captain) to help pay for the float's amenities, if you choose to ride. this policy is for every year that you ride in the rio parada.
